Easter- Weekend-April 2012

On Saturday we woke up early and headed to an Easter egg hunt at Aidan's school. They were expecting a better turn out than they got and so all three of the kids got a ton of eggs. It was fun. We then headed home. We made our bird nests for Easter and had soup in the crock pot...it was a great day. Later that evening Matt was helping Aidan over the fence so he could go jump on the neighbor's trampoline.  Aidan fell getting over the fence and landed on some sticks. Matt called for me to come and Matt was holding him. He had a bad cut on his face and his eye was filled with blood. He had red tears. I was in a panic. We ended up in the Emergency Room. When we got the ER Aidan started throwing up.  They did a CT scan which showed a small fracture on his eye socket. They did several tests on his eye and vision and then he had to get 5 stitches. He did sooo good! Meanwhile, my poor buddy kept throwing up. He did amazing. He slept through the CT scan and just laid there while they did his stitches. He was so brave. We got home around midnight-he threw up again. Matt and I were so worried about him. On Easter morning, I took the girls to church and Aidan stayed home with Matt. He did get dressed for one picture but that was about it. He felt terrible. He didn't hunt eggs or look in his Easter basket...nothing. He slept until 4:00 that afternoon. He was so tired and his poor face just hurt! Oh my poor buddy! Monday morning...he threw up again. Twice. We went to see the Opthamalogist and his vision and eye ball are good! He has some slight bruising on his eye ball but the doc said he was great. However, he said the throwing up was not his eye (apparently when you get hit in the face or eye that can cause you to vomit if you have pressure or bleeding) but that he probably had a concussion. Again, he was so good at the doctor's office when they were running all the tests on his eye. I just hugged him. At one point he said, "Mom..do they have orange buckets here." I said,"Oh buddy do you need to throw up." He said,"No, I  was just wondering in case I needed to."
Today he is resting at his grandma's and we are going to try and send him to school tomorrow.  We are so glad and thankful he is ok!  Matt and I just hurt...it is like when you know your child is hurting you hurt! He is starting to feel better and actually ate some dinner last night.
The girls still had a pretty good Easter. They hunted eggs and played at Grandma and Grandpa's. I am so glad that we dyed our eggs, had many egg hunts and made the bird's nests ahead of time now.
