Aidan Matthew~ April 2012

Right Now...

I think Aidan is probably our child that has a personality that is the perfect mix of both Matt and I. He has so many of both of our personality traits. It is funny to watch him grow up. He just seems like he is getting so big.

Aidan still loves rockets.

He wants a DS and talks about it every single day. He has high hopes for Christmas.

He is so determined. He puts his mind to something and he doesn't stop until he can do it. (He obsesses!)

He can read...yes..he is still learning but this boy can officially read. We are so proud of him.  Just this week he started showing so much confidence. It is amazing.

He said..."Oh shit" at school and we got a phone call home. (He said that is what his daddy said when he dropped something. Oops!)

He loves his teacher and he loves school.

He is my cuddle buddy. I can always count on him to cuddle to take a nap with me. He loves when he gets to sleep with Matt and I.

He still loves "stripes". (That is what he calls the shirts with no sleeves...he has called them that since he was 3.)

He is an excellent bike rider. Not only does he ride with no training wheels...but he rode with Matt about 4 miles the other day. It is big privilege because now we occasionally let him ride in the street.

He has such a big heart.

He is our early riser...he normally gets up at around 5:50 or 6:00. Lately he has been sleeping in to 6:30!

He has great hair..I just love it.

He loves to do jobs with his dad.  As gets older he really likes to spend one on one time with Matt.

He is a boy of routine...he likes things just the way he likes them.  He eats the same lunch every day.

He is a great big brother. He likes to be in charge of his sisters and tell them what to do.

Aidan is our only boy and we feel so lucky to have him.  It is so hard to believe he is 6. Wow...time flies! We love him so much! What joy he brings to our life!

Guess who was excited to have lunch with his teacher today?

DETERMINED!

 Aidan is a child that is so determined! He sets his mind to do something and he just doesn't stop until he does it!  This is how he was with taking his training wheels off, tieing his shoe, swinging a baseball bat without a tee, etc. It is amazing! His big gift for his birthday was a new bike. It is much bigger and has handle brakes. He loves it but it is quite a bit harder. As he told my mom and dad, "Well, at first it was hard but then I tried it and it was just a little bit hard. Then it was a little bit hard but I just keep trying. Now it is just a little bitty bit hard but I will get it." This all takes place in the course of a day. He won't stop until he gets it! He fell over at least a dozen times on the first day--it doesn't phase him! He has to use his tippy toes to get started but by golly he can do it!  I am amazed by him sometimes! Proud but amazed!

~Aidan's 6th Birthday~

 Aidan had his birthday party over the weekend! It was a blast. It ended up raining so a birthday bash at Pump It Up with family and friends was perfect! The kids ran around and played! Aidan and Lily has so much fun! We  had the entire place to ourselves which made it extra nice!

~Look Who is 6!~

 Today is Aidan's 6th birthday! The day started off with a  new shirt, being serenaded  by his family, phone calls from Nana and Pa Pa and Uncle Jay. I met Aidan for lunch at his school and brought him McDonald's.  He was so excited to see me! I got to watch him play a few minutes at recess. It was cute to see him in action at school! He still gets to pass out treats at school, have a little celebration at Ms. Amy's, and then we will see what the night entails. Matt is on nights so I am not sure what we will do for dinner...but all in all..it has been a pretty great day so far!
