Making Bird Nests

The Easter Egg Hunt

Easter- Weekend-April 2012

On Saturday we woke up early and headed to an Easter egg hunt at Aidan's school. They were expecting a better turn out than they got and so all three of the kids got a ton of eggs. It was fun. We then headed home. We made our bird nests for Easter and had soup in the crock pot...it was a great day. Later that evening Matt was helping Aidan over the fence so he could go jump on the neighbor's trampoline.  Aidan fell getting over the fence and landed on some sticks. Matt called for me to come and Matt was holding him. He had a bad cut on his face and his eye was filled with blood. He had red tears. I was in a panic. We ended up in the Emergency Room. When we got the ER Aidan started throwing up.  They did a CT scan which showed a small fracture on his eye socket. They did several tests on his eye and vision and then he had to get 5 stitches. He did sooo good! Meanwhile, my poor buddy kept throwing up. He did amazing. He slept through the CT scan and just laid there while they did his stitches. He was so brave. We got home around midnight-he threw up again. Matt and I were so worried about him. On Easter morning, I took the girls to church and Aidan stayed home with Matt. He did get dressed for one picture but that was about it. He felt terrible. He didn't hunt eggs or look in his Easter basket...nothing. He slept until 4:00 that afternoon. He was so tired and his poor face just hurt! Oh my poor buddy! Monday morning...he threw up again. Twice. We went to see the Opthamalogist and his vision and eye ball are good! He has some slight bruising on his eye ball but the doc said he was great. However, he said the throwing up was not his eye (apparently when you get hit in the face or eye that can cause you to vomit if you have pressure or bleeding) but that he probably had a concussion. Again, he was so good at the doctor's office when they were running all the tests on his eye. I just hugged him. At one point he said, "Mom..do they have orange buckets here." I said,"Oh buddy do you need to throw up." He said,"No, I  was just wondering in case I needed to."
Today he is resting at his grandma's and we are going to try and send him to school tomorrow.  We are so glad and thankful he is ok!  Matt and I just hurt...it is like when you know your child is hurting you hurt! He is starting to feel better and actually ate some dinner last night.
The girls still had a pretty good Easter. They hunted eggs and played at Grandma and Grandpa's. I am so glad that we dyed our eggs, had many egg hunts and made the bird's nests ahead of time now.

A word from Tinker...

Lily was crying at dinner and pointing to her eye.
Lily: "Look Mama...my eyebrow. Mine is coming off."
Me: "No honey..your eyebrow is fine."
Lily: "No..it is going away. You can't see my eyebrows like your and daddy's and Aidan's. Mine are going away!! (Still crying.)
Me: "Lily..your eyebrows are blond. They are just light but they are still there."
Lily: "But I want them to be like yours and daddy's."
Me: "Oh Lily..they are beautiful."
Matt chimes in..."They are beautiful just like you. Your hair and eyebrows are beautiful Tinker."
Now Aidan chimes in: "Yeah...they are kind of white even. I think your hair is white too."

Who knew you could have a whole dinner conversation about eyebrows? This is what I mean...Tinker comes up with the funniest things!

Aidan Matthew~ April 2012

Right Now...
I think Aidan is probably our child that has a personality that is the perfect mix of both Matt and I. He has so many of both of our personality traits. It is funny to watch him grow up. He just seems like he is getting so big.
Aidan still loves rockets.
He wants a DS and talks about it every single day. He has high hopes for Christmas.
He is so determined. He puts his mind to something and he doesn't stop until he can do it. (He obsesses!)
He can read...yes..he is still learning but this boy can officially read. We are so proud of him.  Just this week he started showing so much confidence. It is amazing.
He said..."Oh shit" at school and we got a phone call home. (He said that is what his daddy said when he dropped something. Oops!)
He loves his teacher and he loves school.
He is my cuddle buddy. I can always count on him to cuddle to take a nap with me. He loves when he gets to sleep with Matt and I.
He still loves "stripes". (That is what he calls the shirts with no sleeves...he has called them that since he was 3.)
He is an excellent bike rider. Not only does he ride with no training wheels...but he rode with Matt about 4 miles the other day. It is big privilege because now we occasionally let him ride in the street.
He has such a big heart.
He is our early riser...he normally gets up at around 5:50 or 6:00. Lately he has been sleeping in to 6:30!
He has great hair..I just love it.
He loves to do jobs with his dad.  As gets older he really likes to spend one on one time with Matt.
He is a boy of routine...he likes things just the way he likes them.  He eats the same lunch every day.
He is a great big brother. He likes to be in charge of his sisters and tell them what to do.
Aidan is our only boy and we feel so lucky to have him.  It is so hard to believe he is 6. Wow...time flies! We love him so much! What joy he brings to our life!

Just Chillin'

These sisters love each other....Like I said Lily loves mother Anabelle.

Little Did I know....

I didn't know when I went home for Ella's birthday that we would be celebrating my birthday too! It was a fun time at home!
This is Anabelle's first shower...she didn't know what to think!

~Disney On Ice~

The kids and I went to see Disney on Ice! It was a really cute show! We all really enjoyed it!

Anabelle Devaney-April 2012

RIGHT NOW...
Anabelle loves to shut doors. She is obsessed!
She is still all of 21 pounds soaking wet....just a tiny ball of love! (She is wearing 18 month clothes now! :)
She loves shoes and points to her shoes and says "shoes"! She is often seen walking around our house with someone else's shoes on! She just got a new pair of Croc's and adores them!
She runs like the dickens...her little bottom just get going and it is the cutest thing ever.
She also LOVES birds. She will walk and walk after a bird. She points and squeals with delight and says "bird."
She is talking like crazy and says things like...no..no...no. Go, hi, bye, Mama, Dada, Nana, Pa Pa, outside,  please...she says a version of love you. She also says Li-li (for Lily)and Di-Di (for Aidan).
Still Takes her bottle.
Does not take her boppy anymore.
She loves to be outside. I mean she loves it. She cries when she has to come inside.
Loves water...loves to play in the bath tub, her water table and the sand/water table in the backyard!
Is so cuddly....just loves to snuggle at night and loves to be held! She is so darn lovable! She gives kisses and hugs!  I can't get enough of those kisses!
Is fearless...wants to go down every slide her big brother and sister do!
Anabelle is so special. We just cherish these "baby" moments as she is getting bigger and bigger every day! She really did complete our family and we feel so lucky to have her!

Lily Claire- March.2011

RIGHT NOW-
Lily Claire's personality continues to shine!!! She dressed herself on this particular day because she didn't want her feet to get wet from the grass. She cracks me up!
Lily really likes to mother Anabelle. She wants to dress or undress her, help change her diaper and push her in the stroller! She is a great big sister!
She also is an amazing gum chewer...she can chew it forever and never swallows it!
Lily has become quite the little shopper too! Now, when she is with me we always end up with more in the cart but I like having her with me!!!!
She is still obsessed with skirts and HAS to wear a skirt every day!!!!!
She is all girl...she loves clothes, necklaces, make up, rings....she loves it! She is so aware of all the "stuff" girls need!
She LOVES to dance and has the "best moves"!
She is really into doing cheers and loves her cartwheeling class.
She is so smart---she picks so much up from listening to Aidan do his homework! She can spell a few words, write a few words and can count like there is no tomorrow!
Lily has a sensitive heart-her feelings get hurt easily and she cries when she gets in trouble. She ALWAYS says she is sorry. She is the first to apologize! She takes everything to heart!
Tinker is FEARLESS...she will try and do anything. She is so brave for someone still so small.
She says the funniest things. I mean..literally she says something on a daily basis that makes me laugh.
She now keeps her clothes on more...at least during the day. She still does not wear pajamas...even if it is freezing out.
I always say it but Lily marches to her own drum and she brings such joy to our lives! She is so special and unique! We are so lucky to have her! Oh-how we love this girl!!!!

Future Soccer Player!

Anabelle can kick a soccer ball unbelievable well! It is so cute!
